Introduction[]

Beta-Lands "has" a active and growing community. Beautiful builds and nice plugins that boost your survival nostalgia. BetaLands includes Essentials, Towny, HawkEye (a roll-back plugin), mcMMO, NoCheat, NoLagg, Permissions, Lockette, MobDisguise, and many more plugins that are so much fun!

What, why, and how? Beta-Lands has been around since early 2015 and is supposed to help you re-experience Minecraft Beta. Players of Minecraft from when the game was released to early 2012 know that the game isn't the same as it once was. The server is beta 1.7.3 and you can log in with the premium launcher (preferably). Yes, it's a cracked server so you can log in with any name. Depending on your name choice, you might get banned.

Q: Why does the introduction imply that BetaLands is still around when it obviously isn't?

A: The original version of the BetaLands wikia was deleted in 2021 or 2022. However, thanks to foresight on the part of archivists (which, luckily, this community had many of – shoutout to OmniArchive) many of these pages were successfully preserved on the Internet Archive. However, the only people able to access that archive are those who already knew the link, which is increasingly few. Therefore, I will be preserving it here for purposes of posterity and Google SEO (as in, so that anyone who searches for BetaLands Wiki doesn't walk away disappointed).

Q: Why does much of this look like it hasn't been updated since 2018?

A: Because that's true, really. The server kinda died in 2018, remember? You don't? Check out the timeline below, under "History"!

Anything not already available on the Internet Archive will be reconstructed from memory, oral history, archived messages, and screenshots. Anything created from memory will be clearly clearly marked as such. (Thus, it should be obvious that this page is not recreated from memory; https://web.archive.org/web/20210311061659/https://betalands.fandom.com/wiki/BetaLands_Wiki.)

Website - Archived. Technically the live version in 2024 is still up, but it's a stub, it's so outdated the copyright date is 2020, and it doesn't mention the server having been shutdown for months. :|

History[]

The history of BetaLands can be broken down into multiple Eras:

Early Era (June 5th, 2015 – end of 2015)
Good Era (2016-August 2017)
Dark Ages (August 2017-April 2018) - launch of RetroMC, an instance of DM advertising with long-lasting effects in [the form of] another community, a decline in quality of staffmanship and the leaving of staff members, mass exodus of players... Not a great time to be a BL player!
RetroLands - Failed Merger with RetroMC (April 13th, 2018 – June 3rd, 2018)
Merger Reconstruction (April 2018 – May 2018)
Era of Drama (June 2018 – August 2018)
New Age (September 2018 – October 2018)
Heat Death (November 2018 – 2020)

Towns (Old Map)[]

Beta Valley: One of the original settlements on the new map, as well one of the original three portions of Trinity, the biggest town on the server

BetaVille: The first settlement every created on both the old and new map, as well as the original area of Trinity. Also called "Old Trinity" by at least one person in 2018 (Sweetz).

Pancevo: Good town, founded by FoxyFoxMcCloud (creator of ClassiCube, google it!) named after the Serbian city where he is from.

Chugga Town: A private town owned by chuggacornoroy, was one of the biggest towns due to alts. Based on Chugga's town on the 2016 world.

NO NORMIES REE: Definitely not bezt town. Profagation is full of shit, motherland Pancevo bezt town.

Lazor Land: Large City made by MasterlazorX. Known for being very close to spawn and for the largest public cactus farm.

Truopolis: Town made by toxic player TheTrueChewy, widely hated mainly as it claimed tons of land and for some time had a tax system which was very unpopular among those taxed (everyone).

Swagland: Town made by Swaglicious_R and a few other Pančevo veterans. It was pasted into RetroMC by RetroMC staff from the old Jan 2017 - late 2018 BetaLands map in late 2023, shortly after the final shutdown of BetaLands in November 2023 shutdown).

Towns (New Map – October 2018 to 2020 exclusively, then alongside old map after 2020)[]

New Swagland: The successor to the Swagland of the old map.

BetaVilleNew: York 2.0. First town on the new map, just like old BetaVille.

New York City: A project by LoyalWolf_99 and successor to Coruscant on the previous map.

EvanTheMovieGuy A former moderator on the server. Former owner of Beta Valley, co-owner of Trinity/Betaville, owner of the Trinity Discord. It feels like he's been playing for a fucking eternity.

FoxyFoxMcCloud : Does absolutely nothing, very inactive due to college... as of 2018. Yeah in 2024 he's definitely out of college now LMAO. Good luck to him.) He was a very active member of the community when he was around, though, and created ClassiCube!! Try it today at https://classicube.net !

RichardMcKee : Founder of BetaVille, co-founder of Trinity and coordinator of its creation between LegoMaster2149, DynamicWarfare, and himself.

Mataxus: Just a player who told all of his story.

Xerut : A very edgy Bulgarian kid (he is bezt pleyah #####s [there's a reason betalands shut down. Please go to RetroMC (premium only) or OldSchoolMinecraft (cracked accounts allowed) if you are reading this in 2024 and somehow aren't aware of their existence.]

clockwork : A very nice player, tries to be nice to all and treat all the same as others.
